Location: Peru (countrywide)
Event: On April 8, Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra announced that emergency measures in Peru, including the closure of borders, will continue through April 26.
Per the enhanced Peruvian quarantine measures for the Holy Week holiday, tomorrow, Thursday, April 9, transportation options to the embassy will be limited, as taxis may not be operating. For the convenience of passengers confirmed on tomorrow’s flight from Lima, the U.S. Embassy will provide shuttles departing at 7:30 AM from the following hotels:
- Hilton (Av. La Paz 1099, Miraflores )
- Doubletree (Jr. Independencia 141, Miraflores)
- Swissotel (Av. Santo Toribio 173, Via Central 150, Centro Empresarial Real, San Isidro).
The shuttles will take passengers to the U.S. Embassy, then on to the Peruvian Air Force Base for their repatriation flight. If you are confirmed for tomorrow’s flight, you may consider booking a room in one of the aforementioned hotels.
All confirmed passengers will receive a flight confirmation email with a transit letter. Travelers should print and use this letter while traveling to the designated flight meeting point. If you cannot print the transit letter, have it available on your phone or another electronic device. It is your responsibility to get to the meeting location we provide you on time. Be prepared to travel on short notice.
We encourage everyone to comply with the Peruvian Government’s quarantine measures and to follow the instructions of Peruvian authorities. Limit your time outside and carry your identification and phone. Wear a facemask while out in public.
We are working hard to bring #AmericansHome.
