Alert: Flight Update & Request for Information – U.S. Embassy Lima, Peru
5 MINUTE READ
March 30, 2020

Location: Peru (countrywide)

Event: Peruvian President Martín Vizcarra announced on March 30 that Peru will extend curfew hours to 6 pm to 5 am for most of Peru, except Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, and Loreto regions with curfew hours in those areas beginning at 4 pm and ending at 5 am.  Quarantine measures and border closures will continue.  The U.S. Embassy recommends U.S. citizens in Peru adhere to all quarantine measures due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

All travelers scheduled for flights will receive a call and/or email confirmation from the U.S. Embassy.  Do not come to the embassy or other designated rally points unless you have received a notification from us.  We will continue to schedule flights for U.S. citizens to return home to the United States.

In addition to scheduled repatriation flights from Lima and Cusco, the U.S. Embassy is organizing buses on March 31 to bring U.S. citizens from Trujillo to Lima for their return to the United States.

Flight Standby Guidance:  Our standby process is reserved ONLY for exceptional circumstances, such as minor children who DID NOT receive a flight confirmation to travel with their parent(s).  We are working to ensure that all families will travel together.  If we are unable to get you all manifested together, we will ensure that you all travel together on a later flight.

We are working hard to bring #AmericansHome.
