Alert: Medications and Future Flights, Peru (May 26, 2020)
11 MINUTE READ
May 26, 2020

Location: Peru (countrywide)

Medications:  If you are running low on your medications, Peru’s Ministry of Health maintains a Spanish-language web portal (https://bit.ly/3erY7HL) that allows users to search for prescription medication by name and verify the pharmacies in Peru that carry the medication. You can initiate a search by brand name or active ingredient.  The U.S. Embassy recommends calling in advance to confirm pharmacy hours and that the medication is in stock before going to the pharmacy.

Eastern Airlines:  The Eastern Airlines flight from Lima to Miami (MIA) tomorrow, Wednesday, May 27, is sold out.  Tickets are on sale for an additional Eastern Airlines flight from Lima to Miami (MIA) Wednesday, June 10.  These flights are open to U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs).  For more information, visit https://goeasternair.com, call +1 (855) 216-7601, or WhatsApp +52-1-800-953-1800.

The U.S. Embassy is working diligently to find additional repatriation flight options for June.  We will share new and pertinent information as soon as it becomes available.

Peru’s national state of emergency, quarantine measures and curfew are extended through Tuesday, June 30. Limit your time outside, carry your identification and phone, and remember that the use of a facemask is required in public.  We encourage all U.S. citizens in Peru to comply with the Peruvian government’s quarantine measures and to follow the instructions of Peruvian authorities.
