Event: Our final regularly scheduled flight from Cusco departed today. All repatriation flights through Monday, April 6, will depart from Lima. The U.S. Embassy is arranging regional transportation to bring Americans throughout Peru to Lima to return home.
Buses from Chiclayo, Piura, and Tumbes depart for Lima today, and others are scheduled to bring travelers from Cajamarca on Saturday, April 4. Transportation to Lima from Arequipa, Chimbote, and Tacna is slated for Sunday, April 5, and an additional bus from Ica, Paracas, and Pisco is scheduled for Monday, April 6.
All currently scheduled flights departing Lima fly direct to Washington Dulles International Airport, in Dulles, Virginia. Passengers are responsible for arranging their onward travel. We are unable to accommodate requests for a repatriation flight to a specific destination. We know there are still U.S. citizens in Lima and other regions who wish to depart Peru and we are coordinating with the Peruvian government for additional land and air options for you. Please continue to monitor your emails as additional information is forthcoming.
Peruvian President Martín Vizcarra announced April 3 additional quarantine measures, including obligatory use of face-masks in public, and a gender-based alternating schedule on visits to grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, and other routine business. Only one person per family is allowed to leave their residence for these routine business. Men are allowed to leave their homes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Women are allowed to leave on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. No one is allowed to conduct routine business on Sundays. Security forces have been instructed to respect the rights of transgender and non-gender binary individuals. Restrictions do not apply to individuals who receive formal exemptions from the Ministry of Interior. These measures take effect starting today Friday, April 3.
