Location: Peru (countrywide)
Event: Per the Peruvian quarantine measures, tomorrow, Sunday, April 5, all businesses will be closed and there will be limited transportation options. We encourage people to comply with the Peruvian Government’s measures and to follow the instructions of Peruvian authorities. We will contact passengers today with special instructions for those confirmed for tomorrow’s flights and buses. Passengers in Arequipa, Chimbote and Tacna may wish to spend the night in a hotel or lodging close to the main square of each of these cities, as taxis will not be available. We do not recommend you to come to the Embassy unless we have contacted you.
All currently scheduled U.S. Embassy repatriation flights departing Lima fly direct to Washington Dulles International Airport, in Dulles, Virginia. Passengers are responsible for arranging their onward travel. We are unable to accommodate requests for a repatriation flight to a specific destination.
In rare cases, the U.S. Embassy may be able to partner with outside organizations on repatriation efforts. Even in these cases, flight confirmations and U.S. Embassy information will come only from emails ending in state.gov. Beware of scams.
We know there are still U.S. citizens in Lima and other regions who wish to depart Peru and we are coordinating with the Peruvian government for additional land and air options. Please continue to monitor your emails as additional information is forthcoming.
To ensure that we are aware of your interest in repatriation, if you have not already done so, please register at https://bit.ly/3bx5ons. DO NOT register multiple times. Please provide complete contact information (email/phone) so that we may reach you.
We are working hard to bring #AmericansHome.
