Alert: Quarantine and Repatriation Update, Today’s Private Charter Cancelled Peru (April 10, 2020)

Event: Solange Reps cancelled today’s charter flight from Lima to Miami. This is not a U.S. Embassy flight. Solange Reps is working to reschedule the flight. Please contact the company directly for more information.

There will be a U.S. government charter flight from Lima to Iquitos to Miami tomorrow, April 11. Peruvian government permissions have been received. There are no U.S.-government charter repatriation flights today. To date, the U.S. Embassy has repatriated approximately 6,875 Americans.

On the national quarantine, tomorrow, April 11, gender-based restrictions will remain in effect, and only women will be allowed to conduct routine business. Sunday, no one will be allowed to leave their residences. As of Monday, April 13, quarantine movement restrictions will no longer include a gender-based rotation. The updated quarantine guidance stipulates that from Monday to Saturday only one person per family (regardless of gender) will be able to leave for limited routine business such as grocery shopping, pharmacy visits and banking. On Sunday, April 12, all businesses will be closed and there will be a complete restriction on movements, except for medical emergencies.

Also effective Monday, April 13, reduced curfew hours are in effect from 6 pm to 4 am for most of Peru, except Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, and Loreto regions, with curfew hours in those areas beginning at 4 pm and ending at 4 am. The U.S. Embassy recommends U.S. citizens in Peru adhere to all quarantine measures due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
