Location: Peru (countrywide)
Event: Efforts are underway to bring American travelers to Lima from Piura, Chiclayo and Tumbes. Buses will depart the aforementioned cities on Friday, April 3 for a repatriation flight to the United States on Saturday, April 4. In addition, on Saturday April 4, buses will pick up Americans from Cajamarca for a repatriation flight on Sunday, April 5.
We are aware of Peruvian President Martín Vizcarra’s announcement about additional quarantine measures. We are seeking clarification on how this will impact our repatriation efforts and will provide an update in today’s third Mascot message.
The U.S. Embassy is making every effort to assist U.S. citizens overseas who wish to return to the United States. But as the COVID-19 situation develops, our ability to provide such assistance, whether working with commercial airlines or arranging for evacuation flights, may become more limited or even unavailable. To ensure that we are aware of your interest in repatriation, if you have not already done so, please register at https://bit.ly/3bx5ons. DO NOT register multiple times.
We are working hard to bring #AmericansHome.
