Event: Peruvian President Martín Vizcarra announced today, May 8, that Peru’s state of emergency and quarantine measures will remain in effect through 11:59 pm on Sunday, May 24. Beginning on May 11, the mandatory nightly curfew hours will be slightly relaxed in Lima and much of the rest of the country, with curfew beginning at 8:00 pm and ending at 4:00 am. Curfew hours in the regions of La Libertad, Lambayeque, Loreto, Piura, and Tumbes will remain 4:00 pm – 4:00 am. The all-day Sunday curfew will continue throughout Peru during the extended state of emergency period. We encourage all U.S. citizens in Peru to comply with the Peruvian government’s quarantine measures and to follow the instructions of Peruvian authorities. Limit your time outside, carry your identification and phone, and remember that use of a facemask is required in public. Grocery stores and some other business may also require gloves.
Today, approximately 150 Americans are scheduled to depart Peru to the United States on LATAM flight 2532, organized by private tour operator Solange Reps Travel Agency, bringing the total number of repatriations to more than 8950. Solange Reps charter flight on Friday, May 15 is sold out.

Temporary Foreign Resident Card: Americans residing in Peru can now request a temporary foreign resident card or “Carnet de Extranjería” Issuance Certificate online. The Issuance Certificate is recognized by Peruvian authorities as a temporary ID until individuals are able to obtain an official residency document from Peruvian Immigration.
