Event: Three flights are scheduled to depart Peru today: LATAM is departing Cusco for Miami (via Lima), United is departing Lima for Washington, DC, and American is departing Lima for Miami. Please do not travel to the airport until you receive notification from the U.S. Embassy with confirmed flight details (this message is not a flight notification). We send these notifications out the day before the flight.
Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemispheres Affairs Julie Chung is on the ground in Lima and working closely with Chargé d’affaires Denison Offutt to speed and streamline the repatriation process, while members of the U.S. Embassy community including volunteers and employees from multiple agencies including the Department of Defense, join the effort to get U.S. Citizens back home.
