9 MINUTE READ
April 7, 2020

Location: Peru (countrywide)

Event: We received flight authorizations from the Peruvian government today for additional repatriation flights on April 8 and April 9.  Flight confirmation emails will be sent to confirmed passengers later today.  Confirmed passengers should carry in paper and electronic form the confirmation email and the travel letter provided by the U.S. Embassy.  For passengers departing directly from Lima, there are three designated locations in Miraflores and San Isidro to board buses for the U.S. Embassy to then take you to the Peruvian Air Force Base.  Do not attempt to travel directly to the Peruvian Air Force Base.   Be prepared to commit to a repatriation flight out of Peru on short notice and arrive at the designated meeting locations on time.  We do not anticipate ongoing, regularly scheduled flights. We urge U.S. citizens who wish to return to the United States to take advantage of any forthcoming options as soon as they come available.  If you cannot board an upcoming flight, be prepared to remain abroad for the remainder of the quarantine period.

Private tour operator ACTours notified the U.S. Embassy of an online form for travelers to express interest in a flight from Lima to Miami on Wednesday, April 8.  To register your interest, please click on this link: https://actours.typeform.com/to/mnce59.  Expressing interest with ACTours does not take you off the U.S. Embassy’s repatriation list.

The Government of Peru announced stricter quarantine measures for Holy Week holidays April 9 and 10.  Similar to Sunday, April 5, all routine businesses will be closed this Thursday and Friday except for emergency medical services(Supreme Decree Nº 061-2020-PCM).  For more information on Peru’s national quarantine, check out the embassy’s COVID-19 page.   Manifested passengers should have digital and/or printed copies of their flight confirmations and transit letters to present to authorities and pass through security checkpoints.

Registering with STEP enables you to receive alerts and other important messages from the U.S. Embassy.  However, to register for a repatriation flight, you must use our sign up form online.  If you still seek our assistance in returning to the United States, even if you have contacted us before via email, we ask that you please fill out this online flight registration form (https://bit.ly/3bx5onsimmediately for EACH member of your party so that we can continue to assist you. Only complete the form ONCE.  If you have already completed the form, we have your information and you are on the waiting list for a repatriation flight.
