American Private Sector: The impact of Google in Peru

In Lima, Google is participating in the Economic Leaders Week of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC). The American company shared how AI can benefit more people in APEC economies, how governments can promote digital transformation, and how new partnerships celebrate Peru’s heritage and support its future.

Google thanked Peru for hosting APEC this year and announced that to celebrate its fourteenth year in the country, they will help accelerate digital transformation. Google.org awards $560,000 grant to Kodea, a nonprofit organization that will help 50,000 public school teachers and students in Peru gain AI skills and benefit from the rising tide of technological progress. And to celebrate Peru’s heritage, Google Arts & Culture is launching a new collection with the National Library of Peru, which will digitize the wonders of Peru.

The theme of APEC this year is “Empower. Include. Grow.” As leaders take office in Peru this week, Google is proud to contribute to a forward-thinking agenda around AI, economic growth and competitiveness.
