ARE YOU 15 TO 17 YEARS OLD? APPLY TO THE YOUTH AMBASSADORS PROGRAM
The Embassy of the United States in Peru is pleased to announce the call for the “Youth Ambassadors” 2023 program (“Jóvenes Embajadores”), aimed at Peruvian students between the ages of 15 and 17 who demonstrate leadership skills and citizen participation and who wish to be part of the 10-month program, which begins with a three-week trip to the United States in October 2023.
The goal of the program is to promote mutual understanding, respect, and collaboration among people in the United States and other countries in the Western Hemisphere and seeks to encourage youth activism, leadership, and community service activities.
The program also includes the call for Peruvian teachers as adult mentors, who will accompany the participants during their trip to the United States and will support them in the implementation of a community service project in their city of origin after returning from the exchange.
Some of the requirements to apply for the “Young Ambassadors” program include:
• Be between the ages of 15 and 17 at the start of the US exchange in October 2023.
• Be a Peruvian citizen and resident.
• Attend a public school and be currently studying fourth grade.
• Demonstrate leadership potential and community involvement.
The scholarship application deadline is May 1, 2023.
