Location: Peru (countrywide)
Event: One U.S. Embassy-facilitated flight will depart Lima today for Miami, with a stop in Iquitos for additional passengers. The nonprofit organization Warrior Angels Rescue is assisting U.S. citizens with transportation to the Iquitos airport for today’s flight. To date, the U.S. Embassy has repatriated approximately 6,875 Americans. No U.S. Embassy flights are scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, April 12.
The private charter flight organized by Solange Reps is confirmed and happening TODAY. Transit letters have been provided to the company to help Americans arrive at the meeting location on time. Anyone who purchased a ticket for this flight needs to meet at the JW Marriott (Malecón de la Reserva 615, Miraflores 15074) near Larcomar at 10:00 AM this morning. The flight is scheduled to depart today at 3:00 PM. This is not a U.S. Embassy-sponsored flight. Interested travelers should contact the company directly for more information.
We urge U.S. citizens who wish to return to the United States to take advantage of any options you are offered. We are working with private companies and other countries to explore additional flight options and will inform you as soon as they become available. If you cannot board an upcoming flight, be prepared to remain in Peru until the country’s government ends its nationwide restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.Travelers who choose to remain in Peru after expressing interest in a flight slow and complicate the process for everyone.
We are working hard to bring #AmericansHome.
