Event: Demonstrations/strikes are expected to take place from 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2021. The Unified Air Traffic Controllers Syndicate (SUCTA) intends to protest the Peruvian Corporation of Commercial Airports and Aviation for not complying with previously signed agreements.
Travelers may experience flight delays and possible cancelations at Lima Jorge Chavez International Airport (LIM) as well as other airports in Peru. It is recommended that travelers check their flight status with airlines before heading to the airport.
Actions to Take:
- Make contingency plans.
- Monitor local media for updates. Movement restrictions may be changed unexpectedly and with very short notice.
- Carry a photo ID.
