The Peru-U.S. institutes and cultural centers referenced here are autonomous organizations recognized by the Embassy of the United States as American Spaces: a worldwide network of strategic partners that collaborate to strengthen bi-lateral relations with the United States by promoting local development through English language education and the implementation of cultural and educational activities.
American Spaces provide visitors with the opportunity to study English, learn more about the United States, use their library services, receive college advisement for U.S. higher education institutions, and take part in an array of cultural programs and educational projects. Some U.S. Embassy-sponsored programs available in American Spaces include: EducationUSA, Access Program, College Horizon Outreach Program (CHOP), Proyecto Ciudadano (Project Citizen), Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), and eLibraryUSA. The U.S. Embassy does not certify American Spaces’ English language courses.
There are eight institutions in Peru recognized as American Spaces by the U.S. Government, with a total of 32 branches nationwide. The American Spaces in Peru are also members of the Association of Binational Centers of Latin America (ABLA).
