The U.S. Embassy in Peru has received several inquiries regarding the entry requirement for U.S. Citizens travelling to Peru. Entry into Peru for short-term tourism (180 days) or business requires that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your date of arrival to Peru. If your passport does not meet the requirements you may be refused boarding by the airline at your point of origin or while transferring planes. For this reason, we recommend that your passport have at least six months validity remaining when travelling to Peru. If your passport expires sooner than that, you must apply to renew your passport. To make an appointment to renew your passport please contact your nearest Passport Agency or Embassy.
