This agreement represents a key step in the scientific and technological collaboration between both countries, aimed at advancing aerospace research and developing capabilities in Peru in the field of sounding rocket technology. Sounding rockets yield invaluable data that will enhance our understanding of the Earth’s atmosphere and weather.

This achievement strengthens the cooperation ties between the United States and Peru and highlights the long history of space cooperation dating back to a 1975 NASA launch from Punto Lobos.

The event was attended by prominent officials, including the Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Brian Nichols. The audience included students from various Peruvian universities interested in science and technology, as well as high school students participating in the CubeSat program who connected virtually.
