Reduced Capacity in November: Make Your Appointments Early!

The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Lima will reduce its schedule of non-emergency service appointments during the period of October 31 – November 24, 2016. This includes the American Citizen Services (ACS) unit, which processes Passport replacements and renewals, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, Notary services and Federal Benefits applications. To offset this, the ACS unit has increased appointments throughout September and October to ensure that there is ample opportunity for the public to receive these services.

ACS will only offer a limited schedule of regular appointments in November, but will remain open for emergency services.

The Consular Section encourages you to take five minutes and consider what services you might need over the next few months. Please check your family’s passport expiration dates. If you have a need, do not wait until the last minute. Make your appointment immediately, while there are extra appointment times available. We regret that we will not have the same flexibility in November.

To check availability or schedule appointments, please use our Online Appointment System, or go to the U.S. Citizen Services tab on the Embassy website for more detailed information. Before making an appointment, it is important to thoroughly review the Embassy’s security policy on access and prohibited items. Please understand that American Citizen Services cannot override or make exceptions to this policy for anyone arriving with prohibited items.

We look forward to serving you in September and October!
