With the purpose of strengthening capacities for the design, management and evaluation of cultural projects, the American Spaces network, in coordination with the Embassy of the United States in Peru and the North American Peruvian Cultural Institute (ICPNA), open the call for the “Reactiva Cultura Scholarships”: Training and Funds for Cultural Management, aimed at cultural managers who work in any of the 20 regions where the headquarters of the eight American Spaces are located, including the ICPNA. The two best projects resulting from the program will receive seed funding for their total or partial implementation, which will be coordinated with the promoters of the program.

The virtual program, which has the academic coordination of the renowned cultural management consultant Gloria María Lescano, is aimed at active cultural actors in the regions where the eight Peruvian-North American institutes and cultural centers are present, who will have an accompaniment in the process of designing ten group cultural projects.

“Our work has the purpose of strengthening knowledge about cultural policies. We seek to deepen the capabilities of developing research and diagnoses in the sector, in addition to broadening the vision of the field of action and profile of cultural managers, among other aspects”, said Alberto Servat, cultural manager of the ICPNA.

“The United States Embassy supports the reactivation of Peru’s cultural sector as part of its commitment to Peru’s economic recovery after the impact of the pandemic,” said Ed Cox, public diplomacy officer at the United States Embassy in Peru. “The Reactiva Cultura Scholarships” offer cultural managers the opportunity to form part of a wide national network thanks to the close collaboration of the Embassy with the eight Peruvian American institutes and cultural centers (American Spaces)”.
