The United States Embassy in Peru is pleased to announce the call for applications for the Youth Ambassadors 2022 program, aimed at Peruvian students between the ages of 15 and 17 who demonstrate leadership and civic engagement and who wish to be part of the 10-month program, which begins with a three-week trip to the United States in October 2022.

The Youth Ambassadors program commemorates its 15th anniversary in Peru and has benefited 175 young Peruvians to date. The program promotes mutual understanding, respect and collaboration among people in the United States and other countries in the Western Hemisphere, and seeks to foster youth activism, leadership, and community service activities.

The 2022 program also includes the call for Peruvian teachers as adult mentors, who will accompany the participants during their trip to the United States and support them in the implementation of a community service project in their home city after returning from the exchange.

Some of the requirements to apply for the Youth Ambassadors 2022 program include:

  • 15 to 17 years old at the start of the exchange in October 2022.
  • Peruvian citizenship and residency.
  • Currently enrolled in public school and at the junior grade level.
