Delivery by Private Mail Service

U.S. Passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBAs) may now be returned to certain DHL agency locations throughout Peru.

If you would like your documents returned via DHL, please follow these steps:

1. Prior to your appointment at the Embassy, go to the DHL location in El Polo, located just across the street:

2. Purchase a “Pre-printed guide for U.S. citizenship and/or U.S. passport service”, and select your DHL pickup location.  Please contact DHL for a list of participating DHL locations and the latest fees.  Shipping and insurance for up to 5 passports/CRBAs from the same family can currently be purchased for less than S/.70.  For insurance purposes, you may choose to list the cost of your passport or Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) application service.  Please find our current fee schedule on the sidebar to the right.

3. Bring the guide to your appointment, and be sure to retain your tracking number from the envelope.  We will mail your documents back to you once they are ready – saving you another trip to the Embassy!

Other pickup options

Please note that the contract for delivery of the documents is between you and the delivery service.  The Embassy cannot be responsible for documents which may be lost in transit.

If you prefer to pick up your documents from the Embassy in person, you may still do so without an appointment on Fridays, from 08:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Please Note: In order to use a delivery service, the Embassy must cancel your previous passport at the time of application.  Generally, new passports will arrive within 2-3 weeks.  If you are unwilling to have your previous passport cancelled at the time of application, you will not be able to use the DHL delivery option.
