U.S. Embassy Lima provides scholarships to 10 students of Colegio de Alto Rendimiento (COAR)

U.S. Embassy Lima provided scholarships to Saúl Bernaola, Helya Coronado, Luis de la Cruz, Ruth Escalante, Jhosep Gutiérrez, Bryam Leyva, Luz Limaco, Angel Quispe, Betsy Ochoa y Jhon Roca, all students at the Colegio de Alto Rendimiento de Ayacucho (High-Performance School of Ayacucho), to participate in the English Camp program that will take place at the University of Arizona from Jan.9-Feb. 3, 2017. They will travel with their English teacher Tisbe López.

U.S. Embassy Lima and the Peru Fulbright Commission, in coordination with the Bureau of Specialized Educational Services of the Ministry of Education, worked together to carry out this project, which benefits these outstanding students in their academic performance and especially in their English language skills, which were evaluated using the international TOEFL exam. The program will improve their English skills, develop their personal skills, and promote mutual understanding, respect and cooperation between our two countries. The students will participate in cultural and academic events, interacting with American students and students from other countries.
