U.S. government donates modern medical isolation systems for transporting COVID-19 patientsThe Government of the United States delivered a donation of two state-of-the-art medical isolation units for the transfer of patients to the Peruvian National Police today. This modern equipment is of special importance to save lives in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The “Epishuttle” medical isolation and transport units provide maximum biosecurity to provide care and treatment in the transfer of COVID-19 patients. The donation of the units and personnel training on their proper use totals $235,000.

During the donation ceremony, U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Denison Offutt stressed that U.S. assistance to Peru to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic surpasses $20 million to date, including 250 modern ventilators recently delivered to Peru for distribution to different regions of the country.

Chargé d’Affaires Offutt said that Peru and the United States “continue to work together, with determination and optimism, to face the COVID-19 pandemic. Together, we will overcome this challenge.”
